Handling Labels
The following handling labels may be required, as indicated in DGR 7.2.4:
- Magnetized Material labels are required for all packages and overpacks containing magnetized material.
- CAO labels are required for all packages containing dangerous goods that are permitted only on cargo aircrafts. They must be affixed near the hazard label on the same surface of the package.
- Cryogenic Liquid labels are required for all packages and overpacks containing cryogenic liquids, in addition to the non-flammable gas (Division 2.2) hazard label.
- Package Orientation labels are required to be used on combination packaging and overpacks containing liquid dangerous goods, with exceptions.
- Keep Away from Heat labels are required on all packages and overpacks containing self-reactive substances in Divisions 4.1 and 5.2. This label must be applied in addition to the applicable hazard label. These packages must be protected from direct sunlight and all sources of heat and placed in well-ventilated areas.
- Radioactive Material, Excepted Package labels are required on all excepted packages of radioactive material.
