Other Markings

  • The Limited Quantity marking must be displayed on packages packed in accordance with the Limited Quantity provisions.
  • The Excepted Quantity marking must be displayed on packages packed in accordance with the Excepted Quantity provisions.
  • Salvage packages, authorized by the appropriate competent authority, must be marked with the word "SALVAGE."
  • Environmentally Hazardous Substances labels are affixed to packages containing environmentally hazardous substances as specified by DGR 7.1.5.3.
  • IBCs with UN 3077 must comply with the marking requirements applicable to other packaging. Any IBCs with a capacity of more than 450 L must be marked with the proper shipping name and UN number, and the environmentally hazardous substance mark must be displayed on two opposite sides.
  • All packages containing biological substances, category B must be packed in accordance with Packing Instruction 650, and the UN 3373 marking must be displayed on the outer packaging.
  • All packages containing genetically modified organisms must be packed in accordance with Packing Instruction 959, and the UN 3245 marking must be displayed on the outer packaging.
