HAZMAT Class 1 Explosives - Packing & Labels

All Class 1 packagings must be designed and constructed so that they meet the following criteria:

• They will protect the explosives, prevent them from escaping, and ensure they cause no increase in risk of unintended ignition or initiation when subjected to normal conditions of transport.
• The complete package can be handled safely during normal conditions of transport.
• The packages can withstand any loading, such as stacking, that will not add to the risk and the containment function cannot be harmed.

Other additional criteria may apply. Specific packing instructions are listed in Subsection 4.2 - List of Dangerous Goods. The packing instruction numbers are in the 100 range.
