Key Changes Under Amendment 40-20

As noted at the beginning of this program, the IMDG Code is revised every other year. On June 1, 2022, the provisions in Amendment 40-20 become mandatory, but national authorities may choose to apply this amendment on a voluntary basis from January 1, 2021. Major changes under Amendment 40-20 include updates to several special provisions, terminology changes, and segregation codes.
