Marking of Cargo Transport Units & Bulk Containers

Cargo transport units and bulk containers must also be marked with the proper shipping name of the contents. Whenever dangerous goods are being carried, this must be marked durably on both sides of tank cargo transport units, bulk containers, and any other cargo transport unit. With the exception of goods within Class 1 - Explosives, the UN number must also be displayed, subject to the provisions under 5.3.2.1.1. Special markings are required for substances that are transported at an elevated temperature and for marine pollutants.
