Operational Assessments
When establishing procedures or assessing operational limits for a specific vessel, an assessment is performed. This assessment takes into account the following:
- The anticipated range of operation in low air temperatures
- The anticipated range of operation in ice conditions
- The anticipated range of operation in high latitudes
- The anticipated potential for abandoning the vessel onto ice or land
- The ten main identified polar hazards
- Any other potential hazards that might be incurred
