Operational Assessments

When establishing procedures or assessing operational limits for a specific vessel, an assessment is performed. This assessment takes into account the following:

• The anticipated range of operation in low air temperatures
• The anticipated range of operation in ice conditions
• The anticipated range of operation in high latitudes
• The anticipated potential for abandoning the vessel onto ice or land
• The ten main identified polar hazards
• Any other potential hazards that might be incurred
