HAZMAT Shipping Labels - Class 8 Corrosives
The Class 8 hazard label has a white background on the upper half of the label and a black background on the lower half. A symbol of liquids spilling from two glass vials and attacking a hand and metal is printed in black on the upper half of the label. Any text, including the class number, is printed in white on the bottom half of the label. The border around the label is printed in black.
In addition to the hazard label, a package orientation label is required for liquid corrosives, such as wet batteries.
Another label may be used to assist with the handling of battery-operated wheelchairs and mobility devices. This label is not mandatory, but it helps handlers know whether the battery has been removed or if it is contained within the device.
