IATA: Self-Reactive Substances
Self-reactive solids of Type B are forbidden from air transport. Other types of self-reactive substances that require temperature control during transport are forbidden unless they are exempted by the state authority. All self-reactive substances must be subject to temperature control if their self-accelerating decomposition temperature (SADT) is less than or equal to 55°C (131°F).
- Division 4.1 does not require segregation from other classes of dangerous goods.
- Division 4.2 must be segregated from Class 1 (except for Division 1.4S) and Division 5.1 dangerous goods.
- Division 4.3 dangerous goods must be segregated from Class 1 (except for Division 1.4S) and Class 8 dangerous goods.
Safety matches are permitted to be carried on one's person; however, they are not permitted in carry-on luggage or checked baggage. Strike-anywhere matches, lighter refills, and lighter fuel are forbidden under any circumstances.
