IMDG Code: Container / Vehicle Packing Certificate

Upon packing dangerous goods into any container with the exception of portable tanks, those responsible for packing the container must provide a container/vehicle packing certificate. This document specifies the container identification number(s) and certifies that the packing and loading has been done in accordance with several conditions. Examples of these conditions include the following:

• The container was clean, dry, and fit to receive the goods.
• Packages were segregated according to applicable segregation requirements.
• Packages were inspected for damage.
• Drums have been stowed in an upright condition.

The full list of requirements is found at 5.4.2.1 of the IMDG Code. The information referred to by both the dangerous goods transport document and the container/vehicle packing certificate may be together in a single document, or, if separate documents, attached to one another.
