IMDG Code: Other Documentation Required Aboard the Ship

Each ship carrying dangerous goods and marine pollutants must carry a special list, manifest, or stowage plan detailing the dangerous goods carried and their locations on the vessel. This document must also be made available to designated port authorities before departure. The ship must also carry immediately accessible information for use in an emergency response to accidents and incidents involving dangerous goods during transport. Examples of acceptable documents are the Emergency Response Procedures for Ships Carrying Dangerous Goods (EmS Guide) and the Medical First Aid Guide for Use in Accidents Involving Dangerous Goods (MFAG). In addition, Section 5.4.4.1 of the IMDG Code lists several other special-situation certificates and documents that may also be required as on-board documentation.
