Canada Road & Rail Transport - Class 4 Packing Groups
Different rules for packing groups apply to each subclass within Class 4. The packing group for a Class 4 substance may be based on one of the following:
- The qualities of the dangerous good itself
- The results of testing as set out in specified manuals of testing
Specific details and references regarding these criteria are found in Part 2, Section 2.22, of the TDG Regulations. The packing group (or groups) for a given Class 4 substance may also be found in Schedule 1.
With minor exceptions, Class 4 means of containment and safety marks follow the rules found in Parts 4 and 5 of the TDG Regulations.
