Canada Road & Rail Transport - Class 8 Packing Groups
If a substance is known to be included in Class 8, Corrosives, based on documented evidence published in technical journals or government publications, and if testing is not done to determine the packing group, the substance must be included in Packing Group I. If testing is undertaken, packing group designations are determined on the basis of the testing results. Guidance on testing methods is provided in Part 2, Section 2.42, of the TDG Regulations.
With minor exceptions, the Class 8 means of containment and safety marks follow the rules found in Parts 4 and 5 of the TDG Regulations.
