Canada Road & Rail Transport - Equivalent Level of Safety Permit Approval & Refusal
The Minister of Transport or other designated person may issue a permit for equivalent level of safety, or a renewal of an existing permit. The Minister of Transport or other designated person must be satisfied that the activity authorized by the permit will be conducted in a manner that will provide a level of safety at least equivalent to that provided by compliance with the TDG Regulations.
If the permit application is refused, the Minister of Transport or other designated person must notify the applicant, in writing, of the refusal and the reasons for the refusal.
