Managers should further express this commitment through effective medical surveillance and medical treatment, through management directives, and through a more informal encouragement of employees to maintain good health through exercise, proper diet, and avoidance of tobacco, alcohol abuse, and drug abuse. Fostering this type of healthy work culture will benefit all employees on-site and when off-duty.
