Decontamination Layouts
OSHA classifies contaminated areas into three categories: A, B, and C. These are based on the contaminants and will determine the required measures for decontamination.
OSHA provides decontamination designs (called layouts) in order for sites to organize their decontamination procedures in the safest way. These decontamination layouts are by level and also by maximum and minimum decontamination. For example, OSHA provides the following for Level A:
- Maximum Decontamination Layout, Level A
- Minimum Decontamination Layout, Level A
- Minimum Decontamination Layouts, Levels A and B (for zones with both levels)
