Hazard Communication Program, Step 2
Step 2: Prepare and implement a written Hazard Communication Program. Paragraph (e) of the HCS details this process, which includes creating a written plan and maintaining a list of all hazardous materials on the worksite.
Remember: The written program must address the Hazard Communication Standard's requirements:
- Paragraph (f), labels and other forms of warning
- Paragraph (g), safety data sheets
- Paragraph (h), employee information and training
The list of workplace chemicals (also called an inventory), must contain the product identifier (the product name, common name, or chemical name). The product identifier must be the same name that appears on the label and SDS of the hazardous chemical.
