Hazard Communication Program, Step 6

Step 6: Evaluate and reassess your program. While the HCS does not require employers to evaluate and reassess their Hazard Communication Program in specific timeframes, it does state that the written program must be current, relevant, and comprehensive; it must include all current chemicals and hazards.

To ensure the above requirements, employers must review their Hazard Communication Program from time to time in order to make sure it is still working and meeting its objectives. If it does not meet these standards, then employers must revise the program as needed in order to address changing conditions in the workplace (for example, new chemicals or equipment are being used).
