Safety Data Sheets, Section 4

Section 4 of a Safety Data Sheet is titled "First Aid Measures." It explains the initial care that untrained responders should give to someone who has been exposed to the chemical.

Section 4 includes the following information:

• The necessary first aid instructions, which should be explained for each possible exposure route (inhalation, skin and eye contact, ingestion)
• A description of the most important symptoms or effects of the exposure
• A description of any acute or delayed symptoms of the exposure
• Recommendations for immediate medical care
• Recommendations for special treatment (if necessary)
