Secondary Evaluation

A secondary evaluation is a more detailed analysis of the site and its potential hazards. It occurs immediately after site entry. The evaluation must include the following:

  • Exposure monitoring for ionizing radiation and other immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH) conditions
  • Risk identification based on the presence and concentrations of hazardous substances and communication of the risks to those employees who will be working on the site

It should also update all information in the preliminary evaluation.
