Who Needs OSHA Training
Employers must ensure that all workers have required training for their jobs and areas of responsibility. This extends to third parties who are not necessarily employees, but who will enter the worksite. Examples include vendors, inspectors, and other personnel.
Training can be in many forms: 2-hour, 8-hour, 24-hour, and 40-hour courses are some examples. New employees need more extensive training and experienced employees require refresher courses. The employer must ensure that both are completed accurately, based on worker responsibilities. The employer must also ensure that the worker has appropriate training if or when he or she changes jobs on a worksite.
