RCRA - Small Quantity Generators
The EPA provides three classifications of waste generators, as follows:
- Very small quantity generators
- Small quantity generators
- Large quantity generators
The volume of waste generated each month determines a generator's categorization.
For example, a small quantity generator generates no more than 1,000 kilograms (2,204 pounds) of hazardous waste in one calendar month.
The classifications of waste generators are included in 40 CFR 262, which is titled "Standards Applicable to Generators of Hazardous Waste."
