Required Training - Frequent Site Workers

OSHA categorizes certain workers as frequent site visitors. These workers must receive a minimum of 24 hours of off-site instruction. Frequent site visitors are those workers who are regularly on-site and who may have the following types of exposures to hazardous substances:

  • Exposures that are under the permissible exposure limits
  • Exposures that are under the published exposure limits
  • Exposures that do not require the use of respirators
  • Exposures in areas where there are no identified health hazards (or where there is not potential for the occurrence of a hazardous substance emergency)

Frequent site visitors will receive this 24-hour initial training off-site. Additionally, workers will receive a minimum of one day actual field experience under the direct supervision of a trained and experienced supervisor.
