Voluntary Cleanup Actions

The previous two slides were about sites identified by the EPA and RCRA. Those cases may involve cleanup by private entities (such as companies that are responsible for the occurrence of hazardous materials) as enforced by RCRA and the EPA. However, cleanup can also occur voluntarily. HAZWOPER covers any voluntary cleanup that occurs at sites recognized (by a federal, state, local, or other governmental body) as uncontrolled hazardous waste sites.
