Employer Responsibilities - OSHA Poster
OSHA provides its OSHA Job Safety and Health: It's the Law poster for free. The poster provides workers with information about their rights as outlined in the OSH Act.
There are several versions of the poster:
- The general poster, which is available for all OSHA-covered workplaces that are not located in a state with an OSHA-approved State Plan
- The state's State Plan OSHA poster, which may be available for states operating an OSHA-approved State Plan
- The federal agency poster for federal government agencies
All employers that are required to operate under OSHA must display the poster. The poster has changed over the years. However, employers do not need to update or replace their posters.
Employers may obtain a copy of the poster in different ways:
- Order a print copy online from the OSHA Publications webpage (available in several languages).
- Order a print copy by phone at 1-800-321-OSHA(6742).
- Download a copy from the OSHA website (note that the printed version must be at least 8.5 inches by 14 inches with a minimum of a 10-point font).
Employers must display the poster clearly in a place where employees can see and read it. Multilingual versions of the poster are available in Arabic, Haitian Creole, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Nepali, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Tagalog, and Vietnamese. Employers are only required to display the English version. However, OSHA encourages employers to display the poster in all languages spoken in their workplace.
