Organizational Structure - Community Liaison

All safety and health programs should include a Site Safety and Health Officer (also referred to by OSHA as a "Site Safety Officer") who implements health and safety requirements. According to OSHA, "the Site Safety Officer should have ready access to other occupational health and safety professionals, particularly an industrial hygienist."

After a workplace develops an organizational system, it should identify all individuals responsible for establishing and enforcing health and safety requirements during emergency situations and response. Management should clearly explain responsibilities to each member of the response team.
