Pictogram 3: Exclamation Mark

The third of OSHA's eight pictograms is the Exclamation Mark pictogram.

The Exclamation Mark pictogram identifies the following classes of chemicals:

  • Irritants (skin and eye)
  • Skin sensitizers
  • Acute toxicity (the toxic effects resulting from a single dose or short exposure to a substance)
  • Narcotic effects
  • Respiratory tract irritant
  • Hazardous to the ozone layer
