Safety Data Sheets - Section 11
Section 11, titled "Toxicological Information," identifies toxicological information as well as information on the known health effects of the chemical or substance.
Section 11 includes the following information:
- Possible routes of exposure (inhalation, ingestion, skin and eye contact)
- Descriptions of the delayed, immediate, or chronic effects from short-term and long-term exposure
- Measures of toxicity (for example, the acute toxicity estimates such as the median lethal dose (LD50), which is the estimated amount of a substance expected to kill fifty percent of test animals in a single dose)
- Symptom descriptions, which includes the symptoms associated with exposure to the chemical, from the least severe to the most severe exposure
- Indication of whether the chemical is listed in the National Toxicology Program (NTP) Report on Carcinogens (latest edition) or has been found to be a potential carcinogen in the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) Monographs (latest editions) or found to be a potential carcinogen by OSHA
