Safety Data Sheets - Section 12, Absorption
Section 12 may also include information about the potential for a chemical substance to move from the soil to the groundwater. This potential is recognized through the indication of results from adsorption studies or leaching studies. Adsorption is defined as "the adhesion in an extremely thin layer of molecules (as of gases, solutes, or liquids) to the surfaces of solid bodies or liquids with which they are in contact."
