Safety Data Sheets - Section 3

Section 3, titled "Composition/Information on Ingredients," includes the following information about the chemical:

• The ingredient(s) in the product
• Any impurities
• Any stabilizing additives
• Information on substances, mixtures, and chemicals where a trade secret is claimed

The SDS also includes the following details:

• The chemical name
• The common name and synonyms for the chemical
• The Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) number (or other unique identifiers)
• Impurities and stabilizing additives

If a chemical is a mixture, Section 3 also includes the following details:

• The chemical name
• The concentration of each ingredient that is classified as a health hazard
• An estimate of the concentrations of each chemical if the mixture is a trade secret
• An estimate of the concentrations of each chemical if there is batch-to-batch variation
• An estimate of the concentrations of each chemical if the SDS is for a group of "substantially similar mixtures"
