Worker Participation - Action Item 1

Action Item 1: Encourage worker participation.

Management can do this through the following actions:

• Provide workers with both the time and resources needed to participate in the program.
• Offer positive reinforcement to workers who participate in the program.
• Maintain an open-door policy. This encourages workers to speak with managers regarding any safety and health issues; it also encourages workers to make suggestions for ways to improve worker safety and health.
