Determining IDLH Concentrations

To know if the detected levels of chemicals are IDLH after using direct-reading instruments, employers may consult the OSHA Occupational Chemical Database.

Employers may also consult 29 CFR 1910.1000 Table Z-1 (titled Limits for Air Contaminants), Table Z-2 (titled Toxic and Hazardous Substances), and Table Z-3 (titled Mineral Dusts). This resource lists the chemical and its exposure limits. Employers may search the chemicals by using the search bar or scroll through the alphabetical list.
