Hazard Identification

29 CFR 1910.120 details hazard identification requirements. They include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Any conditions that are IDLH
  • Any conditions that may cause serious harm to employees
  • Sites requiring the use of PPE upon entry
  • Spaces with confined entry
  • Potentially explosive or flammable situations
  • Areas where visible vapor clouds exist
  • Areas where other biological hazards exist (such as dead animals or vegetation)
