Site Control Program - Site Communication (Internal)
Internal communication is for the following tasks:
- Notifying team members of emergencies
- Distributing safety information (for example, the amount of air time left before the next rest period, any air change, and a heat stress check)
- Communicating changes in the day's work tasks
- Maintaining site control
For proper internal communication, workers must always be able to identify one another within both short and long distances. For this reason, workers should have their names marked on their suit and also have color coding, numbers, or symbols to identify one another from a distance. Flags are also excellent tools for identifying personnel in areas with poor visibility (due to waste piles, equipment, or other factors).
