Levels of Personal Protection - Level D
Level D PPE is needed in the following situations:
- When the workplace has no known or identified hazards
- If the employee duties do not include splashes, immersion, potential (or unexpected) inhalations, or any other contact with hazardous levels of chemicals
According to OSHA, the following are Level D equipment and should be used in situations deemed to be in need of Level D equipment.
- Coveralls
- Gloves
- Boots/shoes, chemical-resistant steel toe and shank
- Boots, outer, chemical-resistant (disposable)
- Safety glasses or chemical splash goggles
- Hard hat
- Escape mask
- Face shield
