Particulate Respirators Selection Criteria Resources

OSHA provides several resources for selection criteria for particulate respirators:

  • Service time recommendations for P-Series Particulate Respirators by the National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)
  • The Table of Contents for the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Publication No. 96-101, (1996, January)
  • All filters certified under NIOSH's 42 CFR Part 84 (titled "Respiratory Protective Devices") NIOSH Guide to the Selection and Use of Particulate Respirators Certified Under 42 CFR 84.
  • US Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Filters described in the OSHA Standards:
    • 29 CFR 1910 Subpart I (titled Personal Protective Equipment)
    • 1910.134 (titled Respiratory Protection)
    • 1910.134(d)(3)(iv) (titled OSHA Standard Requirements for Particulate Respirator Selection)
