PPE - Emergency Response & Recovery Workers (Evaluation)
Each workplace will present its own hazards and require different PPE. For this reason, OSHA provides general guidelines but reminds employers to take each workplace and its specific hazards into consideration when selecting PPE. Employers of emergency response and recovery workers should take the following into consideration in regard to PPE:
- Respiratory protection (selected based on anticipated hazards)
- Protective clothing (selected based on anticipated hazards)
- Protective barriers used to protect workers from exposure to hazards
