PPE - Emergency Response & Recovery Workers (Selecting Respiratory Protection)
The OSHA webpage PPE for Emergency Response and Recovery Workers urges employers to use NIOSH-approved respiratory protection approved for chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear (CBRN) exposures. If it is not possible to obtain NIOSH-approved CBRN-specific respirators, then the incident commander can provide alternative respirators. These respirators must also be NIOSH-approved.
