Staff During Emergency Operations

OSHA suggests that a workplace have a certified incident commander and unified command staff member assigned for emergency operations. This will balance "worker protection with the need to conduct critical missions." Examples of such critical missions include those needed to save lives or protect an operation's critical infrastructure.

Employees should work with the incident commander, unified command staff, and any other health and safety personnel with the goal of limiting worker exposures to all hazards.
