General Requirements - Reporting Communicable Disease

The camp superintendent is responsible for immediately reporting any suspected or confirmed communicable disease of a person in the camp. The camp superintendent must report this to the local health officer and must provide both the name and the address of the individual (or individuals) with the known or suspected communicable disease.

When there is a suspected food poisoning in the camp (or an "unusual prevalence of any illness in which fever, diarrhea, sore throat, vomiting, or jaundice is a prominent symptom"), the camp superintendent must immediately report the outbreak to the health authority. The camp superintendent may submit the report by telegram, telephone, electronic mail, or "any method that is equally fast." (The standard does not state what should be in this report.)
