Sleeping Facilities - Floors
The following requirements are for the floors of sleeping facilities (as outlined in 29 CFR 1910.142).
- Floors of each shelter must be made of wood, asphalt, or concrete.
- Wooden floors must be smooth and planks must be well fitted.
- Wooden floors must be elevated at least one foot above the ground level in order to prevent dampness and allow air circulation below.
- Floors shall be "kept in good repair." (The standard does not provide details regarding the term in good repair.)
