Post-Emergency Procedures

At the conclusion of the emergency event all recovered waste and contaminated soil, water, or other material that results from the event must be treated, stored, or disposed of. Any equipment listed in the contingency plan must be cleaned and then checked to make sure it is still fit for its intended use. The emergency coordinator must also take all reasonable steps to make sure that the type of emergency event does not occur again. All of these actions must be carried out before the facility's operations are resumed.
