Shipping and Transport

Prior to packaging for shipping, all drums and containers must be identified and classified in the staging area. 29 CFR 1910.120(j) provides details regarding the shipping and transport of drums and containers.

Staging areas should be kept to a minimum. This helps to properly identify and classify all materials, which are important parts of transport preparation.
Staging areas shall be provided with adequate access and egress routes.
