Solvents - Dilute Acids
Dilute acids are acids diluted by another substance (such as water).
As a solvent, dilute acids help to decontaminate the following:
- Basic (caustic) compounds (compounds that eat away or corrode something). Common caustic compounds include sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, and calcium hydroxide.
- Amines (compounds derived from ammonia)
- Hydrazines (a highly reactive base used in many industries)
