Personal Radiation Detector

A personal radiation detector (PRD) is a small, wearable device (roughly the size of a credit card). It detects gamma and neutron radiation. When it detects elevated radiation levels, the PRD sounds an alarm through flashing lights, tones, or vibrations.

Many PRDs show the detected radiation intensity using a scale from 0 to 9. They are often used to detect a radiation source, but they do not indicate the type of radiation.
