Radiation Portal Monitor
A radiation portal monitor (RPM) is a large monitor that items pass through (such as people, vehicles, boxes, or even trains). In general, these devices have two pillars with radiation detectors. These radiation detectors are remotely monitored from a display panel and sound an alarm to indicate the presence of radioactive materials. These devices can often detect low-radiation materials, such as uranium.
