Eye Protection

PPE for the eyes protects against both the electric current and the molten metal and other projectiles resulting from an arc flash. Such equipment must be heat-resistant, non-conductive, durable, and provide deflection qualities. The capabilities of this type of PPE are measured in cal/cm2 to align with the incident energy possible for the equipment at this distance. Protection should be able to withstand the energy produced in the event of an arc flash. Eye protection (safety glasses or goggles) must always be worn underneath face shields or hoods.
