Risks

When an arc flash occurs, the current moving through the conductors and air is sufficient to cause surrounding materials to vaporize. The result is a bright flash, explosive expansion of molten metal, a loud concussive blast, thermal radiation, and an intense flow of electrical current. Each of these conditions presents a different type of personal hazard.
