Floor & Ground Level Work Hazards
When your construction job requires you to work close to the ground or on the floor, you may have to stoop, bend over for long periods of time, squat, or kneel to reach your work area. For example, you may be finishing concrete slabs, installing decking, or putting down tile on a floor.
These types of tasks can put strain on your back and knees. You can be at risk for lower-back disc problems and bursitis or tendinitis of the knee. In addition, if you need to perform strenuous lifting while stooping or kneeling, you will be working outside your power zone and can risk muscle strains or sprains.
