Symptoms of CTDs

Tendon disorders
Tendons are bundles of fibrous tissue that connect the muscles to the bones. When a tendon is injured, the symptoms can include a dull aching sensation, tenderness to the touch, discomfort with certain movements, and sometimes disabling pain.

Nerve disorders
Pressure on the nerves during repeated work activities, either internally from nearby bones or externally from the hard edges or ridges of some work surfaces and tools, can result in nerve-related CTDs. Symptoms of nerve-related CTDs include numbness, burning, and tingling in the fingers. If not treated, symptoms can worsen and may result in loss of grip strength, clumsiness, increased pain at night, and possibly permanent loss of hand function. Some nerve disorders caused by vibrating equipment cause symptoms like skin that turns pale and cold and loss of sensation and muscle control in the fingers and hands.
