Tip No. 3: Use Tools that Allow for the Right Grip
If you need to perform a task that requires forceful single-grip movements, such as hammering nails, then choose a tool that gives you a power grip when held in one hand.
If you need to perform a precision task, then use a tool with a lower-diameter handle to reduce pressures on the palm.
If you need to perform a task that requires a two-handled tool, like pliers, then choose the tool that has the proper grip span. The grip span should be at least 2 inches when fully closed, and no more than 3 1/2 inches when fully open.
